2nds Win at City Super Club

Youngsters lead the way
On Saturday 3rd October OPM A played Marjon D to get back to winning ways after a tough game against Duchy A the week before.
After going ahead after about 7 mins to a well struck CHRIS VINSON goal, Marjon came back through a lucky goal that grazed Steve Mathis’s thigh on the way into the D.
Although frustrated by the decision OPM kept on working hard and defended well for the rest of the first half with the game seesawing from end to end.
At half time OPM focussed on the positives and came out with more focus and determination and showed real trust and desire to work for each other. Although the half was scrappy OPMs belief that they could win and their incisive passing inside the Marjon D meant that Piran Rolls managed to score 2 excellent goals. The first an excellent piece of trickery to put the ball under the keeper and the second a great piece of positioning to take a pass from CHRIS VINSON and knock the ball in at the far post.
The whole team were brilliant but without the focus of keeper Nick Dodderidge, OPM may have had to work even harder. A strong save from a drag flick was a particular highlight.
Brandon Newcombe and Piran Rolls were a constant threat in behind Marjon with their pace and Chris Paull was thorn in Marjons side as he consistently turned over possession in the middle of the park.
All in all with changes in personel and formation OPM A showed that they are learning week on week from the coaching and becoming a team that wants to play for each other.
MOM: Tied between Chris P, Piran and Brandon ( all for excellent performances)
DOD: Chopper for two squarials
