OPM keep on winning
By Charles Christopher James Helyer
More to come from young seconds team
This was a game of two periods
The first 10 mins and the next 60.
For the first 10 minutes the intensity and accuracy of OPMs play was superb. They passed the ball with great comfort and control and used the whole team in scoring 2 well worked goals. East Devon at this point looked tired and beatable but unfortunately too many players got over confident and didn’t do what they had been doing, for the first 10.
The rest to the half was evenly contested and OPM should have finished off at least 2 more chances.
The second half was dominated for points by both sides and East Devon scored from a lazy pass out from the defence that gave East a chance, that they took. This gave them belief and got them going. They the kept possession better and made it harder for OPM to play. Thankfully with 10 to go Matt Kirby made a great pass into the D for Chris Paull
to score making it 3-1. Two minutes later a game of ping pong and an obstruction. Led to East scoring a second and made the final minutes tense but OPM hung in for the win.
DOD : Carl for a shocking Ariel with 2 minutes to play
MOM: Dan for some superb keeping
Steve for a great 1-1 tackle
